Stacey the Artist -

Stacey Rosenbaum is the artist for Paintings by Stacey. Her talent for painting began in late 2004 when she was introduced to Corel Painter by Marilyn Sholin, who then became her teacher. Discovering her distant artistic blood line relations with Georgia O'Keefe, Mary Cassatt and Johannes Vermeer, and her 19th great grandfather Geoffrey Chaucer and 13th great grand uncle Richard Lovelace, both writers and poets, has expanded her creative mind and ability and has opened her up to experimenting with sketching and traditional oil painting.

Her inspirations include Marilyn Sholin, Fay Sirkis, Helen Yancy, Bruce Dorn, and of course the Old Masters.

Stacey began painting for photographers in mid 2005 after several photographers who watched her progress on the Pro4um, a web site created for professional photographers by Kirk Voclain, asked her to paint for them. She has created very beautiful works of art for her colleagues, and enjoys it more than painting her own artistic creations. She paints every day to learn different styles of paiinting, but her oil portraits are what her clients ask for the most.

Stacey is currently in the planning stages of a series of tutorials on painting with Corel Painter, and hopes to soon travel across the country speaking and teaching Corel Painter to other photographers.

Stacey the Person -

I am a very passionate person, any task that I take on I put my everything into it. I am an avid Days of Our Lives fan and have been since the age of 16, I never miss a show! Other television shows I enjoy and watch all the time are "The Biggest Loser", "The Apprentice", "Heroes" and HBO's new "True Blood". I am also addicted to HGTV, I LOVE home improvement and design, even though my own attempts are feeble.

In my spare time, when I'm not painting, I like to read, crochet and cross stitch. I am also an avid Mah Jongg player (computer versions) and love to compete with myself for the best score. I love history, all history, and love to read about it and investigate it on my own time. My favorite food is Mexican food, can never get enough of it and my middle is testimony to that. I love to cook but sometimes don't feel like cooking. I eat sweets in moderation, and I'm a coffee-holic. :) I love music, especially 70's and 80's hits, but I don't like rap and hip hop.

I have 3 children, aged 16, 17 and 20, and a 19 year old step son. I have the best husband in the world who supports and encourages me in everything I do and loves me for who I am, flaws and all. I love to laugh even though I have the worst laugh in the world, my kids tell me it sounds like a witch laughing, but I still laugh.
